Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a mum, a nature lover, and the creator of The Unlikely Friends. These stories grew from time spent outdoors with my children in the midst of motherhood. A time I loved deeply, but also a time when I felt a little lost, and found myself drawn back to creativity and the calm of nature.
The Unlikely Friends is a picture book series inspired by British wildlife and written in joyful rhyming verse. The stories explore big emotions through animal characters children can relate to, while carrying a gentle real world message. They are designed to spark outdoor curiosity and help children notice and care for the creatures around them.
Each story reflects a real challenge faced by wildlife today, from bees struggling to find flowers to hedgehogs navigating blocked pathways. Every book blends humour, heart and real nature facts, and ends with a simple conservation pledge. The aim is to turn curiosity into action, encouraging children to take small, positive steps for nature long after the final page is turned.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far, whether by buying a book, sharing kind words, or following along. Every bit of support means more than you know and helps these stories continue to grow.
