Product Description
Buster the Clumsy Honeybee introduces Buster, the zoomiest, happiest and most delightfully clumsy honeybee in the meadow. He is determined to impress the mean Queen, but with his wiggly wiggles, unexpected crash landings and slightly over the top buzzing, life in the hive rarely goes smoothly.
This warm rhyming story celebrates self acceptance and shows children that the things that make them different are often their greatest strengths. Every page is filled with expressive, hand drawn illustrations and gentle humour designed to make little readers smile while helping them explore themes of confidence, friendship and nature.
Alongside Buster’s story your child will find a page of bee facts to spark curiosity and a special conservation pledge to help them feel proud of their role in caring for the outdoors.
Every part of this book was created by one mum writing and drawing in nap times, late nights and the tiny pockets of quiet that appear in life with two toddlers. It is made with love, determination and a lot of coffee.
Buster’s story is perfect for bedtime reading, classroom nature topics and for children aged 2 to 6 who love animals, adventure and a touch of silliness.
A Little Note About Delivery
If you’ve already bought a book, or you’re thinking about it — thank you so much. Your support really does mean the world.
Orders usually arrive within 2–4 working days. If you’re local (in the Devon area), I’ll always do my best to deliver your book myself and refund the postage.
Help Me Spread the Word About Buster
At the moment my book is not professionally published. It is just me writing, drawing, packing envelopes and doing a little happy dance every time someone chooses Buster’s story.
Every review, every recommendation and every share genuinely makes a difference. If you loved this book, please take a moment to leave a review on this website or Instagram tagging @the.unlikelyfriends.
And if you can tell just one other mum about Buster and she buys a copy, imagine the ripple effect. If every mum told a mum who bought a book, twice as many little readers would meet Buster and twice as many tiny conservationists could be inspired.
Thank you so much for showing me your support.

Such a lovely book! Myself and my two children absolutely loved reading this book, my three year old kept asking questions about buster and bees and my 5 month old loved all the pictures and bright colours. Definitely a book you can read to all ages. Luckily for me there’s even facts about bees in the back of the book, so when my son was asking questions I had the answers!
You can tell so much love and thought has gone into this book and it’s one that we will be reading again and again!

The author has created this book herself from scratch. The writing and the illustrations all by herself!
It’s clearly written with love and is cleverly mischievous!
The children I have gifted this book to loved it…as did I!
We want to hear more from Buster and his friends!

An incredible book with such a heartfelt story with colourful illustrations. Our son loves us reading this to him and is the first book he goes for when it is time for his bed time story. He even calls bees ‘Buster’ when he sees them in other books or on the TV.

This is the most wonderful book. I got a copy for my 4 year old nephew and when I gave it to him he immediately took it to his Dad for them to read together. He loves it. The illustrations are so beautiful and the gentle rhymes work perfectly while teaching little ones about nature. Thank you so much. Xxx

A fantastic book enjoyed by both my 11 month old and 4 year. It has a wonderful movement to it which makes it fun to read and as a parent I love the little messages that shine through around being yourself and looking out for nature.

A creative and fun book that’s been written with love.
I love how it subtly weaves nonfiction elements into the story. As a teacher, I’ve found that students often steered clear of nonfiction books because they had this preconceived notion that nonfiction texts are boring or dull. This story is a great way to challenge that notion!

Such a heartfelt and beautiful book. My 18-month-old loved all the amazing illustrations and, as she gets older, she’ll love the story too. This book combines an uplifting story with the perfect amount of learning which will be sure to get all children excited about exploring nature!

An incredible book for children.
A beautiful story of Buster the clumsy Honeybee and his journey along the way to finding a new home for the Honeybees when the hive faces its biggest challenge. Buster saves the day and becomes the Honeybees hero. The illustrations are beautiful, it has informational facts and the story is captivating for children. My grandchildren loved this book and so did I as their grandmother 😁 I think this book should also be in nurseries and schools. Looking forward to the next book. Well done.

Buster the Clumsy Honeybee is a warm and encouraging story that promotes resilience, perseverance, and self-belief. It gently reminds children that it’s okay not to succeed straight away, and that with patience and practice, progress is always possible.

We were very kindly gifted this book and it’s been a real joy to read to my daughter. She’s very particular when it comes to book and she let me read Buster the Clumsy Honeybee cover to cover. I love that it’s packed full of facts about honeybees and has inspired me to do a wild flower bed this year in my veggie garden. A lovely book with an eye catching animation that’s great for little ones with a very important message to share. Would love more books like this

We were kindly gifted this wonderful book and it’s been a big hit with my toddler who has been very particular with books recently. I am pleased to say she has let me read this book to her every day, from cover to cover which is no small task! It’s a great story with a very eye catching animation. I also love the fact that the book is packed full of honeybee facts. It also shares a very important message about the environment and honeybees and has inspired me to do a wild flower bed in our veggie garden this year. We need more books like this.

A truly lovely book with beautiful illustrations – you can really see the care and effort that has gone into every page. The story’s message is an important one about perseverance, believing in yourself, and continuing to try even when things feel difficult, with the added facts being a lovely bonus that make learning feel fun and natural. It’s the perfect story to help children understand that trying is just as important as getting things right. I love it!
Vicky Phillips –
We absolutely love this book. My little boy adores the illustrations, and the rhymes makes it really good fun to read aloud. I also know the children I teach (Year 1/2) will love it too, as they’re currently so interested in books about nature—this one is perfect and I can’t wait to share it with them. I can really see how it would be beneficial to use in lessons, as well as for a calm and enjoyable story time. A really beautiful book!
